THE Ondo State governor’s elect, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has raised the alarm over the activities of some unscrupulous elements soliciting for financial support and monetary contributions towards his Inauguration ceremonies on February 24, 2017.

Akeredolu who frowned over the activities of the people stated this in a
statement signed on his behalf by the secretary, steering committee, transition, inauguration and SDPIC, Kunle Adebayo, described the action as an outright case of fraud, impersonation and obtaining under false pretence.

Adebayo said “It has come to our notice that some unscrupulous elements are approaching members of the public, particularly highly placed Nigerians both in private and public offices within and outside Nigeria, through text messages, phone calls, and letters purportedly emanating from the governor-elect of Ondo State, Mr Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, soliciting for financial support and monetary contributions towards our inauguration ceremonies on the 24th February, 2017.”
“This is a blatant lie and an outright case of fraud, impersonation and obtaining under false pretence. It is embarrassing, fraudulent, wicked, criminal, and irresponsible and a total act of Felony.”
He however called on members of the public not honour such letters, phone calls text messages did not emanate from the governor’s elect.
Adebayo called for the arrest of such criminals while he also called on the member of the public to report such case to the security agents in the state.

“Nigerians are also advised to report any and all such cases to the Police for investigation, possible arrest and prosecution.
