Amosun on warpath with Ogun APC Senators for supporting EFCC boss Magu & going against Custom boss, Col Hamid Alli
The Ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun is currently not happy with the duo of APC Senators representing Ogun West and Ogun Central
senatorial districts, Senator Prince Dada & Senator Lanre Tejuoso over their support for Magu and their refusal to support the custom boss Col Hamid Alli at the Senate.
A close ally of the governor name withheld revealed that the governor gave specific instructions to the duo through a telephone conversation not to support Magu's confirmation in any way.
This is because the Ogun state governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun is among the 7 governors who Magu is investigating for the diversion of N19bn out of the Paris Club refund. It will be recalled that the EFCC few weeks ago had traced several millions to various governors which they got through a consultant presented by the governors' forum and approved by the finance ministry to oversee the disbursement of the Paris refund.
A sum of N400m was traced to Ibikunle Amosun's company accounts in two banks without any jobs or services rendered. Affected governors had directed their senators to block and mobilize their members against the confirmation of Magu as efcc chairman.
It was revealed that the two APC senators from the state refused to take part in such moves. Instead one of them was seen throwing banter with a senator from Lagos which infuriated the governor.
The governor is also not happy with the two senators for keeping quiet during the debate involving the custom boss, Col Hamid Alli after the governor had also given a directive to support the custom boss.
